1. Acceptance of Terms

By using this site or the Finance pilot, joining the waitlist, booking a call, or participating in a Handbuilt Lab cohort or preview, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or services.

2. What We Provide

The Handbuilt Lab helps pastors and church leaders build communications materials and reusable AI workflows for ministry. You keep responsibility for your voice, theology, and final decisions.

The cohort page describes the dates, price, included sessions, support, and deliverables for each program before you enroll.

The Finance pilot connects to QuickBooks Online and prepares church Finance reports from the connected company's data. For a selected report month, it retrieves company information, Balance Sheet reports, and Profit and Loss reports covering the December before the report year through the selected month, and the year's transactions in up to six accounts it flags for a closer look. It stores source captures, account mappings, report settings, generated reports, exports, and operational records so the church can review and reproduce its work.

3. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving anything you create with AI tools or Handbuilt workflows before using it in ministry. You remain responsible for theological accuracy, pastoral suitability, confidentiality, and compliance with your church or organization policies.

Every church member in the workspace can access the Finance pilot and its reports. You are responsible for inviting only people your church authorizes to work with its Finance information and for removing access when it is no longer appropriate.

Finance reports require review by the church's treasurer or another responsible reviewer. Before relying on, presenting, or sharing a report, compare it with the church's QuickBooks records and correct any incomplete or inaccurate mapping, reporting period, accounting basis, label, or amount. The church remains responsible for its books, financial decisions, filings, and reports to its governing body.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of content you provide, including sermon examples, notes, writing samples, and ministry context. You give us permission to use that content only to provide coaching, workflow support, site features, or cohort services you request.

Do not submit confidential pastoral care information, sensitive personnel information, or material you do not have permission to share with outside tools or service providers.

These ownership terms also apply to Finance information and reports. Your church keeps ownership of the QuickBooks data and other Finance content it provides. You give us permission to process that content with Intuit, Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, GitHub Actions, and Cloudflare R2 as needed to provide the Finance feature you request.

5. QuickBooks Connection

You must have authority from the church and permission for the QuickBooks company you connect. The Finance pilot reads accounting data. Its implemented operations do not create, change, or delete QuickBooks accounting records. This describes what the app does, not a read-only OAuth permission scope. Do not connect a company or use Finance data that you are not authorized to access.

Disconnecting QuickBooks stops Handbuilt from using that connection and requests removal of its authorization in Intuit. If removal cannot be confirmed, Handbuilt blocks reconnection and shows the support step needed. Disconnecting preserves saved Finance history. The church can also manage its authorization through its Intuit account.

6. AI-Generated Material

AI-generated material can be wrong, incomplete, generic, or unsuitable for your context. Treat it as draft support and research assistance, not as a final authority. You decide what to keep, revise, cite, or discard.

Finance sends each month's saved report, and the transactions in the accounts it flags, to Anthropic's Claude to write review questions, a short summary and suggested QuickBooks cleanups for your church to check, as described in the Privacy Policy. The AI cannot connect to or change QuickBooks; any change it suggests is your church's to make.

7. Registration, Payment, and Cancellation

The October 2026 Lab costs $199 per participant, plus applicable tax, paid once when you enroll. Stripe processes your payment. Registration covers one participant working on their church's projects. AI subscriptions and physical printing are purchased separately.

Pay when you enroll. If the Lab is not right for you, email hello@gethandbuilt.com by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Friday, October 16, 2026 to request a full refund. A full refund includes the amount you paid for this registration. Requests received after that deadline are nonrefundable except where required by law.

If Handbuilt cancels the program before it starts, you receive a full refund. If we cancel part of the program after it starts, we will offer replacement sessions or a refund for the undelivered portion. If we materially change the schedule, you can choose the revised dates or a refund for the undelivered portion.

Each participant can book one optional 30-minute private appointment per week during the six-week program, up to six appointments. Contact us if you need help scheduling. Joining a future-cohort interest list does not reserve a paid place.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the site, cohort materials, or workflow support to create unlawful, abusive, deceptive, discriminatory, or harmful content, or to violate another person's privacy or intellectual property rights.

9. Participation and Results

We provide the sessions, materials, and support described on the cohort page. Completing your church's assets and workflows requires your participation, source materials, and review. We do not promise a specific number of hours saved or that every AI tool will suit every ministry task.

QuickBooks data, account mappings, generated calculations, and report files can be incomplete or inaccurate. Availability can depend on Intuit, Supabase, and Vercel. Backup availability also depends on GitHub Actions and Cloudflare R2. A generated Finance report is a working report that requires church review. Handbuilt does not provide accounting, tax, audit, or legal advice through the Finance pilot.

Finance's AI-written reviews and questions can be incomplete or wrong. They are working aids for the church's own review, not financial, accounting, tax, audit, or legal advice. The church remains responsible for checking them against its books before relying on or sharing them.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms for future registrations and will post the updated version here. Changes do not remove the support or refund commitments made when you purchased your registration.
